Preserving Our Volga & Black Sea German Heritage
A community of families connected by history, food, and story — right here in the Denver metro area.
Who We Are
The AHSGR Denver Metro Chapter is the Colorado chapter of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, a national organization dedicated to the history, culture, and genealogy of Germans who settled along the Volga River and the Black Sea coast before emigrating to North America. Our chapter connects Denver-area families with that heritage through regular gatherings, a quarterly newsletter, and shared research.
We're in an active revival — reconnecting with longtime members, welcoming new ones, and bringing back a steady rhythm of affordable, welcoming get-togethers.
Meetings & Membership
We gather for social events and board meetings throughout the year — see Upcoming Events for the current calendar. Annual membership dues are $15 per person. Reach out through our contact page to join or to ask about the next gathering.
Unsere Zeitung — Our Newsletter
Unsere Zeitung ("Our Newspaper") is our quarterly newsletter, carrying chapter news, heritage stories, and oral histories from our members. It's mailed in print and sent by email. Want a copy or to be added to the list? Get in touch.
